As many of you know, Mr. and Mrs. Topel are eagerly awaiting and anticipating the arrival of their new little baby. Contingency plans are in place, substitute teachers are on high alert, plans are written, hospital bags are packed, and now… all we need is a baby!

Waiting for the arrival of a baby is extremely exciting!

In a similar fashion, last Sunday marked the beginning of Advent, a time in the church year where Christians prepare and anticipate celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus. Each week, we light a candle in the Advent wreath, reminding us that we are slowly getting closer to celebrating the arrival of the most precious baby… God’s Son!

During the season of Advent, we want to slow down and keep our focus on the main reason of the season - that is, Jesus. Our prayer is that the age-appropriate Advent devotionals that were sent home last week can serve as a blessing in assisting with your family's “God time” during this Advent season.

In addition, we would like to invite you to the following Advent/worship opportunities:

December 6 – Pancakes with Pastor: Please join us for an endearing opportunity to begin your Advent celebration by enjoying a pancake breakfast, making your own family manger scene, and hearing Pastor Paul share the Christmas story. This event will occur in the gym from 8:30 - 10:15 a.m. Please check the school newsletter to register.

Friday, December 12 – Preschool/Kindergarten Christmas Service at 6:30 p.m. Come hear our littlest disciples proclaim the powerful message of the birth of their Savior!

Wednesday, December 17 – PTL Merry Mingle from 9:00 - 9:20 a.m. Please enjoy fellowship, coffee, and homemade cinnamon rolls in the church lobby before the Grade 1 - 4 Christmas Worship Service.

The arrival of Baby Topel will change and enhance the Topel family in beautiful ways. The birth of our Savior has the power to transform lives and provide eternal rewards.

May this Advent season bless the Topels and all of us with joyful hearts filled with the peace of knowing that when God arrives, whether in Bethlehem or in a hospital room, He is always right on time!
