Our mission is to educate and make disciples who will go out into the world, share Jesus, and serve as His ambassadors. To effectively do this, we prioritize Biblical instruction and teaching as well as provide opportunities for faith to be put into action, as well as the Gospel message shared. We strongly believe that giving our young disciples opportunities to live out their faith and share the hope of the Gospel is important.
Teachers design and implement individual classroom outreach activities that are age-appropriate for students; these activities specifically share the Gospel with the recipients. In addition, we also embrace numerous school-wide outreach opportunities. Samples of various outreach projects the students of which St. Matthew students have participated in during the various school years are listed below:
- Senior Card Ministry: Every classroom has two or more congregational “Homebound” and senior members with whom they correspond monthly
- Prayer Partners: Some classrooms partner with our International Friends in prayer support and various activities to learn each other's culture
- Turkey Trot: Annually support a major need in the community near or afar: Spreading “SON-shine” for Florida hurricane relief, Soles for Souls providing shoes, Run for Braedon to assist with medical bills, Christian Outreach for Africa to support Christian School scholarships for orphans
- Samaritan's Purse: Tailgate Party to help Hurricane Helene victims with physical and spiritual needs
- NOAH Project: Decorating lunch bags with Gospel messages and packing or serving meals for homeless guests
- Lutheran World Relief: Assembling school bags for needy children
- MOST Ministries: prayer support for volunteer mission teams and collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses
- St. Paul, Pontiac: assisting with various children’s programs
