Do you remember a birthday that felt extra special? For me, turning thirteen was a huge deal because I was finally allowed to babysit! So when the woman down the street heard I was available, she made me an offer I simply couldn’t refuse. My very first job, watching three children from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., earned me a whopping fifty cents an hour! I felt like I had just struck gold and had the best paying job ever!  

Of course, I quickly discovered that keeping up with three small children all day is no small task. By the end of each day, I had definitely earned every penny!

But there’s one English nanny who is practically perfect in every way, and she’ll be arriving on the east wind at the St. Matthew auditorium very soon. Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss the magic she brings as she works her wonders with children! Please join us as St. Matthew Lutheran School proudly presents… Mary Poppins Jr.!

Mary Poppins tells the story of a magical nanny who arrives to care for the Banks children in London. With her unique and creative style of discipline and education, she takes the children on imaginative adventures. Along the way, Mary Poppins helps the entire Banks family rediscover the importance of kindness, joy, and family before she departs as quickly as she arrived.

To best accommodate schedules and seating, we offer two different performance dates: Friday, May 1st, and Saturday, May 2nd, both at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Matthew gymnasium. To obtain tickets, please either submit the “Presale” envelope that was sent home last week, or stop in at the school office for tickets.

During your theater visit, please stop by the “Spoonful of Sugar Cafe”, where you will have the opportunity to purchase Mrs. Banks’ homemade cookies, Mr. Banks’ Edible Kites, Bart’s Chimney Sweep Dust, Mary Poppin’s Amazing Carmel “Pop” Corn, Michael’s Mischievous Pretzels, and Jane’s Practically Perfect Cake Pops. In addition, the buzz of the bees is that there will be Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious chocolate bars that will contain various prizes, including a Pool Party at Mrs. Palka’s house for the winner’s class!

So “step in time”, don’t delay, and get your tickets before they fly away!
