"Step In Time" and Get Your Tickets to See Mary Poppins Jr.!
"Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31
Do you remember the first time you hired a babysitter and left your children with someone who wasn’t family?

A neighbor of mine, whose oldest child was the same age as my youngest, once hired a sweet girl who lived down the street to babysit. This was my neighbor’s first time leaving her children with someone other than a grandparent or relative, and she was understandably a bit nervous. Before heading out, she asked if I would be home in case of an emergency, and I reassured her that I would.
We all stood outside, waving goodbye as the parents drove off. Not long after the parental farewell, the oldest child came sprinting toward our house, shouting, “SUE! HELP!” My stomach flipped as I ran to meet her. Hysterical, she cried, “Carson is stuck in the backyard and we can’t get him out!”
Not knowing what to expect, I ran faster than I thought possible. When I turned the corner, I found four-year-old Carson wedged tightly into his old infant swing on the swingset. His eyes wide with panic as he pleaded, “Help me! I’m stuck!”
It took a little bit of teamwork, but the babysitter and I eventually managed to wiggle, push, and pull him free.
However, this type of event would never happen on Mary Poppins watch as she is practically perfect in every way!
Come and see for yourself next Friday or Saturday night, as St. Matthew Lutheran School proudly presents Mary Poppins Jr.!
Mary Poppins tells the story of a magical nanny who arrives to care for the Banks children in London. With her unique and creative style of discipline and education, she takes the children on imaginative adventures. Along the way, Mary Poppins helps the entire Banks family rediscover the importance of kindness, joy, and family before she departs as quickly as she arrived.
To best accommodate schedules and seating, we will offer two different performance dates: Friday, May 1st, and Saturday, May 2nd, both at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Matthew gymnasium.
