For those of us who work at St. Matthew throughout the summer, a common comment that we frequently share is that this building is way too quiet during the months of June, July, and August. However, this building immediately becomes alive again as soon as all of the students return; it is absolutely amazing how you can just feel the excitement resonate throughout the hallways!
Last May, our current seventh graders selected the theme "Jesus, Your Way Is Better", based on the current Forrest Frank song of the same title. The foundation of this particular song carries a powerful message of trust, surrender, and alignment with God's will for our lives and for this school year. Sometimes, as humans, we think that we know what's best and forget to even consult the Lord before we proceed. May the statement of "Jesus, Your Way Is Better" be our daily prayer before we handle challenges, make decisions, or interact with others. His way may not always be easier, but it will always be the best!
